Serving Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Big Trees in City-Sized Yards
The Northeast has plenty of homes with real yards, but they’re still tighter than suburban lots farther out. A tree that looked perfectly sized decades ago may now shade the whole backyard, hang over the garage or crowd the neighbor. Trimming creates clearance when a healthy tree is worth keeping. When it’s unsafe or simply too big, removal gives you the yard back.
Tight Side Yards and Alley Access
Access is usually the biggest difference between city and suburban tree work. A backyard may only be reachable through a narrow side passage, gate, shared alley or path between buildings, which affects how tools, branches, wood and stump equipment move in and out.
When a large tree can’t be dropped safely, it comes down in smaller sections, planned around roofs, garages, fences, parked cars and neighboring yards. It takes more handling, but control matters more than speed with so little space below. Clear communication and thorough cleanup make a big difference when homes sit close together.
Private Trees and Street Trees
Not every tree beside a home is handled the same way. Trees in a public sidewalk area or right-of-way can fall under different city rules than trees fully on private property. If you’re not sure which applies, confirm with the City of Philadelphia before arranging work on a street tree.
Flores handles tree work on private property, including backyard trees and trees beside houses and garages. Roots are another city issue. They can find their way into cracks in older sewer lines, but the pipe itself needs a plumber. We handle the tree side, whether that means pruning, monitoring or removal.

Your Questions, Answered
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you come into Northeast Philadelphia?
Yes. We serve Somerton, Bustleton, Fox Chase, Torresdale and other Northeast neighborhoods from our Warminster base.
Can you remove a tree from a backyard with no truck access?
Yes. Tight-access work may mean removing the tree in sections and carrying material out through the side yard or alley.
Can you work on a street tree?
Street trees may fall under City control or need permission. Confirm the tree’s status before arranging any work.
Is stump grinding included?
Free stump grinding is available with qualifying tree removals. Mention the offer when scheduling, since restrictions apply and it can’t be combined with other promotions.
Can tree roots affect an older sewer line?
Roots can enter damaged or cracked lines, but plumbing repairs need a plumber. We handle the tree side where it makes sense.
Do you trim branches over garages and alleys?
Yes. Clearance around garages, alleys, roofs, fences and neighboring yards is one of the most common trimming requests we get.
